Bringing different voices together to shape the future of AI

The Partnership on AI brings together a uniquely diverse community to explore some of the most important questions surrounding the development and impact of artificial intelligence.
For its inaugural events in the USA and Europe, be-good created live experiences in San Francisco and London designed to bring those different perspectives into meaningful conversation.
The Brief
The ambition was to create more than a traditional technology conference.
Partnership on AI needed an environment where researchers, engineers, civil society, media, academics, technology companies and people directly affected by AI could explore emerging issues openly and in depth.
Across three days of debate, the aim was to generate new thinking, build connections and contribute to the evidence base informing effective AI governance and policy.
Our Thinking
The value of the event came from the mix of people in the room.
Rather than centering the conversation around one discipline or point of view, the programme was designed to create space for perspectives that do not always sit comfortably alongside one another.
AI scientists and engineers could hear directly from civil society and those at risk of harm from the technology. Researchers and academics could exchange ideas with industry leaders, media and policymakers.
be-good created the environment and live experience around those conversations, helping participants move beyond surface-level discussion into the more challenging questions shaping AI’s future.
The Outcome
The inaugural events at San Francisco’s Festival Pavilion and Shoreditch Electric brought together a diverse international community for three days of debate, connection and collaboration.
The experience helped Partnership on AI create a space where different perspectives could be heard, challenged and developed, supporting its wider mission to build stronger evidence and more informed approaches to AI governance.
Most importantly, the events created new connections between people and organisations who might otherwise approach the same questions from very different sides, turning conversation into a foundation for future collaboration.
